The Lady Berkana, herald and hope of spring after the midwinter sun. First to grow upon the land, a pioneer of the soil springing from the earth, spreading root and seed after the brutal Ice Age melt. Majestic maiden of the spring forest who softly stands evermore, enduring the wind and cold of winter's most frigid bite. Strength is she, soft understated protector of womankind and mother birthing again and again the woodland copse. Crone too is she, harboring lived and observed secrets well beyond the wisdom of mankind upon her peeling bark skin where the careful woodland guest might stumble upon a hint of the mysteries she holds within her bower.
